a full heart and a busy weekend.

mother's day was extra special this year. we spent the weekend very busy with a baseball tournament in pocatello, id and a dance recital for each of the girls. it was chaotic, stressful, windy, cold and tiring. but at the same time it was filled with love and gratitude and such joy watching the kids excel in things they love to do. plus we have another little bun in the oven {coming this november} and that adds to the overwhelming feelings of gratitude.

{warning: this novel is for me & my terrible memory}

friday: connor's team had been playing well, but we weren't sure how the tournament {their first} would go. we drove 2 cars up for the 2 games on friday. they won the first easily. it was pretty cold and very windy during the games. the other kids spent a lot of the time in the car watching movies {the girls} or taking naps {will}. we knew the second game would be tough and we were down 5-1 in the 3rd inning. we ended up rallying to win the game 9-8! it was so, so fun to see the excitement on those boys' faces and also their coaches! everyone was super excited! we had dinner and then headed back to the hotel {mabel's favorite part of the trip}. we hardly ever get to stay in a hotel, so this was a pretty cool thing! :) the kids swam for a bit. not too much, connor needed to get to bed and get ready for his early game in the morning. cory went out and bought the prettiest tulips for the dance recital girls, knowing that he'd probably miss seeing them dance.

saturday: in the morning, we sent cory and connor off to their games. we cleaned up and started the trek back home to be able to their 10am dress rehearsals. the drive was thankfully easy, popped a movie in and the kids were content. thank heavens for the dvd player in the car! connor and his team won the first two games despite the bitter cold and wind. poor boys played so hard in less than ideal conditions. connor played catcher a ton and pitched some too. i was a pretty proud mama watching him on friday. i've never seen him play better! they had a 5 hour break between their last game and the championship game. so cory and connor drove up to the idaho falls temple to walk around the grounds. then about the time for elsie's dance recital they headed to mcd's for their free wifi to facetime and see elsie dance. i'll admit, that i got pretty choked up as her dance started and looked at cory and connor watching on the phone. they couldn't see very well {quality wasn't that great} but so touching that they wanted to be a part of it, just like i wanted to be a part of connor's big game. after elsie's dance the big game started. cory was a pretty proud papa watching his boy as the starting pitcher for the championship game! thankfully, i didn't know he was pitching or else i would have been a nervous wreck! cory made arrangements {he usually coaches first} to be able to facetime during mabel's dance. both the girl's dances were precious! they were so excited to have their big day finally come. the boys played hard, and ended up the runner-ups. could not be prouder of those boys!

it was pretty heart breaking to feel so torn at needing to be in two places at once. it's never happened to us before, but i'm sure it is just the beginning. but all ended well and cory & i were where we were supposed to be and both feeling very grateful.

cutest little dancerinas. so proud of my girls!

our brown-eyed birthday girl.

our beautiful mabel turned 6 yesterday. crazy to believe that my baby girl is now 6!! she's so grown up and the best helper and many times seems older than 6. she is such a great sister and friend to everyone around her. she loves meeting new friends. everywhere we go, she meets someone new. the park, baseball games, school, wherever. she is so very smart. she's improved so much on reading this year and loves to read to others. mabel is a great organizer and helper around the house. many times she's the first one done with her jobs and helps the others with theirs. and sometimes she surprises us with making our bed or connor or elsie's bed. we love our miss mae!

she asked to have a friend party this year, and since i put it off last year and told her this year would be the year, i had to agree. it was so very fun to plan though and was a fun princess party with the cutest princesses ever! mabel just wanted to play games and that was easy enough to plan. so we played pin the crown on the princess, musical thrones, princess bingo, opened presents, and had a treasure hunt that led to cake and ice cream. very fun indeed.

the invites. attached to a pink polkadot balloon.

off to deliver the invites.

christmas 2014.

well, we had a wonderful christmas, filled with excitement, family, new presents, good food and fun! the kids were up about 6:30 and we held them off for 15 min or so and then went down to see the loot! the kids were very pleased with their presents. nothing better than kids on christmas morning!! we enjoyed the morning at our house and then went to celebrate with family.

we are so grateful for our Savior and for his birth.  He is truly the reason for the season.  we are also so grateful for our wonderful family and friends.  what a blessing you are to our lives.

to kindergarten she goes.

i have a lot of mixed feelings as i sit and write this. i'm so excited for my beautiful girl to finally have her turn to ride the bus. i'm excited for all that she'll learn. i'm excited for the new friends she'll make. i'm excited for my miss mae. but a part of my heart was hurting as i watched her get on the bus. she quickly found a spot on the side i asked her to so i could take pics of her and watch her for just a little bit longer. her smile said it all, she was sooo excited and sooo ready. i saw a little nervousness in there too. but so much excitement. i tried to keep it together as she waved at me. oh so precious. i cried as the bus drove away. and then before i knew it, it was time for her to come home! such a fun adventure begins for both of us!

oh how i love miss mae! she is such a light in our family. she is the little mama of the home. she is such a great helper. oh how we will miss her while she's away, but can't wait for all the experiences she'll have.

...mini cheerleaders...

a few weeks ago, mabel and elsie went to a mini cheer camp at the local charter school. they totally loved it! originally we thought that we'd just put mabel in it, thinking that elsie was too small and it'd be cheaper. well, to say elsie was crushed when the morning came for mabel to go would be a major understatement. she was devastated! it pretty much cut me to the core listening to her tell me in her cute, deep voice, "but my a big girl..." it was one of the saddest things. we've been telling her that she is such a big girl since she's been going on the potty, so this was too much!

so we drove over there and signed her up the morning of! luckily they had extra t-shirts and pompoms so we could. yay!

worth. every. penny.

our preschool grad.

it's true. our mae mae has graduated from preschool! oh how fast the time goes. but, she is so, so ready for kindergarten. though she is ready, i'm not sure that i am! she has grown up so much in the last few months, which has been so exciting and fun. but, oh, my girl, i love you and want you to stay 5 forever!

she did an amazing job on her preschool program today.
knew every word!

her amazing teachers ms. chris and ms. ann

once again, these girls are the cutest!
so fun to be in preschool together!

our dancin' chicken.

last saturday mabel had her year end dance recital. she was so excited that her recital day had finally come. she was the cutest dancing chicken you've ever seen! it has been so fun to see her find something that she loves to do, work so hard at it, and then enjoy the spotlight.

it was a special night for her and our family.
thanks to all who came!!

getting ready to perform.

the thing that made it the most special night, was that she got to share it with bella, her very best friend! how fun it is to have a cousin so close and share so many fun moments with! such beautiful girls if i do say so myself!

after the performance! such a beauty.
