an afternoon with the ducks.

last week i thought to myself, i should try and do a short daily blog entry, just for a week, showing the "everyday" things we do.  i thought it'd be a fun memory.  yeah...didn't happen.  maybe i'll get to it soon. :)  anyways, one day last week we spent an afternoon at the park feeding the ducks and playing at the playground.  we had a great time.

elsie is our animal lover.  any animal she sees she gets so excited and always says this cute, short "hi."  she was in heaven with all the birds.

she finally resorted to just eating her bread.  she's a smart girl.

connor tried to launch one out to the swan in the distance.  he would have made it except for the branches in the way.

connor and mabel loved this.  i remember playing at the same park when i was little and loving a similar one.

one of our treasures.

a belated st. pat's day.

the leprechaun was up to no go at our house this year!  he sent us on a scavenger hunt to file our pot of gold.  he also did some crazy things around the house like turn the toilet bowl water green, drew pictures on the mirror and sink, he put chairs on top of tables, stacked pillows on each other, he turned the milk green, and he turned things upside down.  it was a mess!

the kids were shocked when they found green marks on their hands in the morning...the leprechaun must have gotten close!!

our yummy cinnamon roll breakfast.

easter.

easter came early for me this year.  the kids enjoyed the annual hoa egg hunt at the park.  it was pure madness!  mabel and elsie definitely made out better than connor, thanks to the roped off "little kid" area.  mabel was very sweet and shared her loot with connor.  elsie was really into this year and loved finding treats, it was so fun!

waiting patiently, ready to hunt.

after the hoa hunt.

elsie wearing mabel's super spy easter glasses she made at preschool.

the easter bunny brought swimsuits along with a few dolls, pencil sharpeners, candy and cars 2 cars.

trying to get an shot of the easter clothes was near impossible this year.  this is what we got...

elsie's smile cracks me up.  she pulls funny faces when you ask her to smile.

i love this one.  elsie's face is so cute and i love how she's holding on the mabel's skirt.  these skirts are doing double duty this year...easter skirts and skirts for kayla and bryce's june wedding!!

windy mesquite.

a few weeks ago we went down to mesquite for spring break.

we golfed, flew kites, had crazy cafe, played at the playground, had a marshmallow fight, ate lots of treats, had sleepovers, played baseball, went on walks, drove rc cars, watched movies, played foosball, flew rc helicopters, put in a doggy-door at gpa jaxon-penny's, shopped in vegas, golfball hunted, played games and watched conference.

it was a great get-a-way!!

one of the favorite things to do was to watch the workers get the hole ready each morning.  they especially liked when they change the hole position.  very exciting!  all of the kids were out there at one point, but by the time i got my camera, some had moved.

at the park one night.  it was pretty windy that night.

miss mae.

our miss mae turned 4 years old over the weekend.  everyone says it, but it's so hard to believe how fast the time has gone.  we celebrated with a fun easter tea party with all her cute girlie cousins.  we ate some of mabel's favorite foods, made some glitter easter eggs, jelly bean bracelets and even threw in an egg hunt.  loads of fun for this 4 year old!  she received many sweet and thoughtful gifts!  thanks to all for such a great birthday for our precious girl!

after the hunt, checking out the loot.

our cute girl with her healing lip {keep reading for more about that}

she can now officially ride a 2 wheeler with no training wheels!
within 5 minutes, she was riding by herself!
thank you strider bike!

{she inherited the strider balance bike from connor, who inherited it from his cousin.  can't say enough about those bikes.  seriously, a.m.a.z.i.n.g.}

all the girls showing off their jellybean bracelets.

here's a picture of mabel the first night after she, as she puts it, "face landed on the curb".  poor girl.  her lip was swollen out as far as her nose.  she was running into the school one day and tripped and quite literally, "face landed" on the curb.  luckily, none of her teeth fell out and only one of them was pushed back.  but, now, she's about healed and we're just a little more careful as we run into the school now!

happy birthday sweet girl!  we love you.

wishes.

If a leprechaun gave me one wish, I would ask for...{connor} "to swim in a green swimming pool."

our basketball boy.

connor had an awesome first basketball season.  he decided that bball is his favorite sport.  we'll see if that changes soon with baseball coming quickly.  he learned a lot and loved every minute of it!  thanks to all those who came and supported him!

way to go connor!!
